This is a picture from Europe's Planck Telescope. It displays the limits of the Milky Way galaxy and all the dust and gasses beyond of which humankind can develop a picture. There is much more to the universe, beyond this picture, but these images alone create a mystery that humans have long tried to answer. What questions come to you when you consider the mysteries of our planet, universe and beyond? Connect those questions with pictures or links and share in the comments.
The mysteries of our planet always has intrigued me ever since. For example area 51, aliens, crop circles, Bermuda triangle. These mysteries i would really like to explore and finally discover what is really happening under the big secrets of the universe.

Global conspiracies has always fascinated me as a child and as a teenager. Whether these conspiracies seem very fake or does not seem to be happening, I always keep in mind the slight possibility that it can happen. I would really like to explore the depts of global conspiriacies in past history and even in the present.

Why is there prejudice against certain religions?

The Sikh temple shooting is a prime example of one group having bad feelings over another group. Where this originally stems from, I don't know. There always seems to be conflict when it comes to talking about religion, or conflict when discussing two religions. Hopefully this semester I'll be able to dig deeper and find out more about this.
My question about mysteries of our planet is that "why is there life on the earth?". Some people says that there are some living things on the other planet, such as aliens. However, people haven't discovered about it yet. There are some reasons why is the earth has life. First, the earth has atmosphere which few of the other planet has. Second, the earth has climate that is caused by moderate of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of planet. Third, there is water which is the most important things for the living things. Therefore, if some other planet has those three important factors, that planet might have some living things that has not discovered by some one yet.

ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about where religions originate from. I know about the Christian bible, but how did all these religions of the world come into being? I would like to know if most of the religions had someone like Jesus come down and tell them about what Christianity was and make it easy to believe if stories in different cultures just evolved over time to be what they are today.
The Bermuda triangle has always been mysterious to me especially reading what has happened on 30 January 1948 when a plane of 25 passengers never to returned again after passing the bermuda area.I really want to explore the bermuda triangle to see what is going around there and what it stopping them from returning.

I've always wondered who decided what's right or what's wrong. What if we went to another planet that thought killing and stealing were good deeds. Our first impression would be, "That's wrong," but to them they grew up with those standards. What if they thought our standards were wrong? Who decides to draw the line?

I've wondered why the Islamic people would kill them selves or try to attempt in blowing up with other people. I know that they do it for the name of their God Allah, but im wondering if it is actually a good thing for them to give up their own life and family.

I've always had a strange relationship with horror or scary things. When I was a small boy, I despised it, not an uncommon thing. However, lately, in my teenage years, I've started to enjoy watching horror films, playing scary games or just being in frightening places. It's not that I enjoy it, it's just the rush of something, somewhere is more powerful than anyone you could ever imagine and is hunting you down, at this moment, is just exhilarating, blood-curdling and, oddly enough, kinda fun. Something that's always accosted with horror is the subject of ghosts or the paranormal. This topic is something that has had my head spinning for as long as I can remember. Why would the dead come back into our world to torture or, sometimes, help us? Are those really dead beings that have come back to haunt for eternity that we see in all those homemade videos, or is it just all a big sham?

In a world like today where science has developed so much and we have looked back and seen in many instances where religion led to wars and human exploitation why are so many people today still lending faith to their various religions?
ReplyDeleteThere have been events such as the Thirty Years' War, the Second Sudanese Civil War, the Crusades, the acts of sexual abuse committed by priests, and the 9/11 attacks among many others religion has been used repeatedly, and sometimes on a very grand scale, to justify immoral actions.

Good posts and questions about the mysteries that surround us. Without a curious mind, we never would have gained knowledge. Curiosity is born out of faith or hope. We hope there is something more to learn, to know, to experience. Without hope, there is despair and another question: Why would we be given life if not for a purpose?
